Wycliffe Fitness Professional Going for Level 3 TPI Certification

TPI-Certified

Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) is a term in the fitness arena that has become very popular in the past number of years. TPI focuses on the “Body/Swing Connection”. Basically, it finds what your swing faults are and creates a plan of various corrective exercises to get your body in shape when you’re on the golf course. Having regular TPI screenings are extremely important for the avid golfer. They actually can see what movements your body is capable of doing. Each test is specifically designed to find your swing faults and can help create a plan of action just for you on what you can do to take corrective measures. What most don’t realize is that your golf swing is correlated with your body shape. Those struggling with stability or mobility issues can certainly benefit from these screenings. Besides, who wouldn’t want their handicap lower and be able to enjoy themselves more on the course?

Wycliffe is known to have an incredible team of fitness pros that work with members each day on TPI. We are so very proud of our TPI Certified Golf Fitness Instructor, Stephanie Corman, who on June 10-14, 2015, will be traveling to the home of the Titleist Performance Institute in Oceanside, CA to obtain her Level 3 TPI Certification. Stephanie began her career at Wycliffe Golf & Country Club almost six years ago as the Fitness Supervisor. Her goals have always included making our members happy and healthy, and enhance their fitness and golf skills.

With an impressive background in Business, Personal Training, Physical Therapy and Athletics, Stephanie wanted a career that not only allows her the opportunity to showcase her skill set and passion, but to add value to the Fitness team. As a TPI Certified Professional, Stephanie is able to screen golfers for certain physical limitations, which in turn affect their swing. She’s fantastic at creating specific programs for members that combine: fitness, nutrition and swing mechanics.

With her TPI Certification Level 2 already in hand, Stephanie is climbing the corporate ladder by going for Level 3. This is a three day, hands-on learning experience, where she will receive personalized skills from the best and brightest in the golf and fitness business, including Jason Glass (www.jasonglasslab.com) and Lance Gill (www.LGPerformance.com). Both, are industry leaders, educators and coaches in the areas of player development, movement restoration, physical screenings and fitness protocols. Gill happens to be the Director of the Titleist Performance Institute Fitness Advisory Board and has been The Performance Director for more than 10 years. Glass is one the world’s top Golf Strength and Conditioning Specialists and has consulted for many professional athletes from the PGA Tour, European Tour and LPGA. Along with Lance Gill, Glass is also a Head of the Titleist Performance Institute Fitness Advisory Board.

So how does Stephanie’s TPI Fitness Professional Level 3 Certification benefit Wycliffe members?

  • More knowledge of the Body Swing Connection.
  • Advance better communication between the Fitness Pro’s in relation to golf terminology and the general mechanics of the golf swing.
  • Foundation Fitness Protocol for TPI Certified Group Training.
  • Understanding of strength, power, mobility and flexibility.
  • Stronger knowledge in nutrition and supplementation for golfers.
  • Olympic Lifting & Cardiovascular Interval Training

“TPI believes golfers will benefit the most from a healthy and efficient body. TPI does not believe in one way to swing a club, rather in an infinite number of swing styles. We do believe there is one efficient way for every player to swing and it is based on what the player can physically do” – Jason Glass and Lance Gill.

Wycliffe Golf & Country Club congratulates Stephanie on this remarkable achievement.
